How To Advance Claim or Withdraw EPF Balance Due To COVID19?

Finance Guru Speaks: This is a very important article on how you can apply for Advance Claim (Withdraw) of your Employee Provident Fund (EPF) Balance. 

This Advance Claim feature is enabled by EPFO due to COVID-19 Pandemic and it is a very vital step taken by our Govt.  

Before I share the detailed Steps, it is very important to know the Eligibility Criteria as well as the maximum PF Amount which you can withdraw. 

Below details are shared on EPFO Member Portal:-

Eligibility:-

• UAN should be activated.
• Verified Aadhaar should be linked with UAN
• Bank Account with IFSC code should be seeded with UAN

Maximum/Eligible Withdrawal Amount:-

• Upto 75% of PF balance (Employee share and Employer Share) or 3 months PF wages or the claimed amount by the member whichever is the least.

If you are fulfilling the above Eligibility & want to withdraw a portion of your Eligible PF Balance, then you can continue your reading for detailed Steps.

Steps to apply for Advance Claim (Withdraw) of your PF Balance due to Corona pandemic:-

1. Open EPFO Member e-SEWA Portal Website.

2. As shown below, provide your UAN No., Password & Captcha code. Click on Sign in:-

3. On the Home Page, go to Online Services -> CLAIM (FORM-31,19,10C & 10D) link, as shown below:-

4. On the Next Page, You need to enter the last 4 digits of your Bank Account and click on Verify button:-

5. Once the Bank Account details are verified against your UAN records, you need to click on Proceed For Online Claim button:-

4 Easy Steps To Download Your EPFO PF Account Passbook Using UAN

PF Member Passbook provides details about your Monthly EPF contributions and your employer contributions. Also, you can see the total EPF balance accumulated till date.

Updated* Steps to Download your PF Member Passbook:

1. Open EPFO Member Passbook Website.

2. As shown below, provide your UAN No., Password & fill Calculation Section. Click on Login:-

3. On the Next page, select your Member ID from the Select MEMBER ID dropdown for whom you need to check your PF Balance & Passbook. This Member ID is nothing but your EPF No. 

After selecting your EPF No., click on Download Passbook button:-

4. You will see one pop-up message (as shown below). Click on Download File button:-

Congratulations!! You can find your EPF Member Passbook downloaded in your folder. 👍

Some important details provided on EPFO Member Passbook Portal:-

1. This facility is to view the Member Passbook for the members registered on the Unified Member Portal.

2. Passbook will be available after 6 Hours of registration at Unified Member Portal.

3. Changes in the credentials at Unified Member Portal will be effective at this Portal after 6 Hours.

4. Passbook will have the entries which have been reconciled at the EPFO field offices.

5. Passbook facility is not available for the Exempted Establishments Members / Settled Members / InOperative Members.

Finance Guru Speaks: This article will guide you on finding your UAN Number without any follow-ups or seeking help from your Employer. No need to send mails to your Company's Payroll or Finance department to know your UAN No. All you need to do is to follow the simple steps provided in this article.
 

You can know your UAN No. by following below instructions:-

1. Open UAN Member e-SEWA Portal by clicking here

2. As shown below, click on Know your UAN Status link

3. In the next page, provide your EPF details like State, PF Office and PF Account No. Click on Check Status button.

4. In the next screen, you can see message like - "Your UAN is allotted for Member ID...". This means that your UAN No is already generated and your PF No. is linked to it. Suppose your UAN is not allotted, then you need to check with your Employer.
Provide all the details as shown below and click on GET PIN button.

Make sure to carefully provide details like Mobile No., Email ID, Password etc.

Forgot UAN Password - How To Recover or Reset Your UAN Login Password?

Please follow simple steps to recover or reset UAN Login Password as shown below:-

    1. Open UAN Member e-SEWA Portal by clicking here
  
    2. As shown below, Click on Forgot Login link as shown below :-

EPFO: How To Check Your EPF Balance Without Knowing Your UAN

Finance Guru Speaks: Wondering how can you check your EPF balance without knowing your UAN? If yes, then this article will provide you detailed steps on how can you receive your EPF balance details on your Mobile.

All you just have to know is your PF No. :-)

No worries if you do not know, you can still find your PF No. in your Salary Slip.

Follow below steps to check your EPF Balance:-

1. Open Know Your EPF Balance EPFO page and click on "Click here to Know Your PF Balance" link, as shown below -

2. Select your State (where your PF account is located):-

Budget 2016: Govt Withdraws Proposal to Tax EPF Withdrawals

Finance Guru Speaks: Today Government announced in Parliament that the proposal to tax 60 per cent of Employees’ Provident Fund has been withdrawn.

Earlier, the Union budget for 2016-17 proposed taxing 60 per cent of withdrawals from the Employee Provident Fund (EPF) on contributions to be made after April 1, unless the sum is reinvested in pension product such as an annuity.

Indeed, it is a huge relief for the Salaried Class! :-)

[FY 2015-16] Provident Fund Interest Rate Revised To 8.8% From 8.75%

Finance Guru Speaks: Employee's Provident Fund (EPF or PF) rate of interest calculation is revised to 8.8 percent for the FY 2015-16.

Last year, the rate of interest was 8.75 percent.

One more good news, the Government has indicated that the hike is an 'interim one' and it could be further revised later.

EPFO: How To Activate Your UAN Based Registration?

EPFO: How To Check Your UAN (Universal Account Number) Status?

UAN is a 12 digits Numeric Number and you will receive it from your Employer.

Once you have received UAN from your Employer, next step is to activate it to enjoy its benefits.  

This article will guide you in how you can activate the received UAN.

Please follow simple steps as shown below:-

    - Open UAN Member e-SEWA Portal by clicking here
  
    - As shown below, Click on Activate your UAN link.

     - Fill the details, as shown in the below image. Click on GET PIN after filling the upper section. Wait for some time, you will receive below SMS from the Portal:-

SMS Content: To complete activation of UAN based registration, enter PIN: 2330

    - Enter the received PIN and click on Submit button as shown in above image.

    - Once your UAN credentials are verified, you need to verify your details & create a Password to access the UAN Portal for login. Don't forget to provide your email ID too.
It is shown as below:-

Note: Remember your UAN is your User ID to access the Portal.

 

Now you will receive below SMS :-

Your UAN 1000xxxxxxxx has been activated with user ID 1000xxxxxxxx. Please update your mobile number details whenever you change it.

Congratulations!! Your UAN has been registered successfully now.

Open your mail box and check for email from UAN Portal. Open that mail and verify your email address with the help of email verification link provided in the mail. Once you confirm your Email Address correctly, you can see below screen:-

Now, start using your UAN as your User ID and Password to open the UAN Member Portal and avoid all unnecessary hassles! :-)
